Ideas and leaders that are changing how food is produced, distributed, purchased, and consumed.

Strengthening New England’s food system requires a shared vision across many stakeholders. Organizations and groups around the region are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the name of building community and strengthening the regional food system with a keen eye toward equity and scale. These leaders have a vision for what a better, stronger food system can look like and embrace their own role in it.

Grants within this category are defined by the extent to which they fundamentally and deliberately shift the region’s food system. Over time, the nature of the impact from these grantees so fundamentally alters the region’s food system that they become foundational to the system itself.
